Where Our Attention Goes

My name is Chao Liu, I am an interdisciplinary visual artist with work encompassing visual design and illustration. I draw inspiration from contemporary social phenomena, using narrative visual language to convey emotions and ideas. My work is characterized by strong personal expression and a distinctly contemporary feel. My work has been exhibited at internationally renowned institutions and art events. In addition to artistic creation, I also have six years of professional experience as a visual designer at a Chinese internet company. This experience enabled me to combine an artistic vision with industry-level design expertise, further enriching and expanding the depth and breadth of my creative work.

My practice uses digital illustration to explore everyday life, emotions and personal experiences. I often start with things I observe around me and connect them with changes and experiences in contemporary society. Through illustration, I turn these observations and ideas into visual stories, exploring how changes in society and the way we live can influence our feelings, memories and understanding of ourselves.
